Harbor Interfaith operates the only shelter in the South Bay specifically serving homeless families by offering the dignity and safety of private units with their own kitchens and bathrooms. The 20-unit, two-story apartment complex also features an outdoor play area and indoor children's recreation room.

During their 90-day stay at the shelter, clients agree to save 80 percent of their income to find permanent housing when they leave. They meet with caseworkers twice a week and attend workshops on various topics, including budgeting, parenting and nutrition. They receive assistance on building a resume and seeking employment as well as free and reduced-cost childcare.
