HIS Kids Club

The HIS Kids Club provides students with a safe and wholesome environment. The program operates from 2p.m. to 6p.m. Monday through Friday and full-time during the summer. Aides pick students up from school, give them a healthy snack and get them started on their homework. Volunteers provide tutoring, read to the children and lead enrichment activities.

Children take regular field trips to the library, the Boys and Girls Club and other local sites. Thanks to a grant from the Thelma Pearl Howard Foundation and the John Burton Foundation, children attend a special program at Angels Gate Cultural Center, where they work with professional artists on various projects.
