Harbor Interfaith provides a rent-free apartment. For more information, contact Caroline Brady-Sinco at (310) 831-0603 or by email at dir.dev@harborinterfaith.org. Tech VISTA: should have strong computer science skills, the ability to teach people with limited exposure to technology, the ability to solicit donations in person and in writing. Will be in charge of: Maintaining computers, printers and Internet access for the agency’s 24-unit transitional housing complex; Administering assessments and setting up training; recruiting volunteers; acquiring computer donations; and expanding technology program to the emergency shelter. Outreach VISTA: should have excellent speaking and presentation skills; experience in Web site design and management; video production and PowerPoint skills—or the ability to recruit and manage volunteers with those skills. Will be in charge of: outreach to civic, community and faith organizations; maintaining a database of contacts; recruiting volunteers and donors; updating the agency's presentation materials—Web site, PowerPoint presentations and video. Development VISTA: should have strong writing skills, experience leading a committee and the ability to focus on long-term projects. Will help build the agency's fundraising capacity by: supporting the fundraising auxiliary as they plan and manage an annual fund-raising event; recruiting volunteers to work at community fund-raising events; helping the agency create a planned giving component; exploring possible business partnerships; researching new grants and corporate sponsorship opportunities.
